Hygiene measures at DAGA 2021
The hygiene concept has now been approved by the authorities, and DAGA 2021 will take place as planned.
Since July 1, far-reaching relaxations have come into force, which will have a significantly positive effect not only on events but also on the rest of your congress stay in the city of Vienna.
The following precautions are taken during the time of the conference:
1. Admission only for tested, recovered and vaccinated persons
Please present your ID card upon entry, as well as valid proof that you have been vaccinated OR tested negative OR have recovered.
Participants must keep this proof available for the duration of their stay.
How and where can I get tested easily and free of charge in Vienna?
The infrastructure for free rapid antigen tests with appointment, or free PCR testing with self-administration, is very convenient in Vienna.
An antigen test may be taken by any authorized facility. Such a facility is, in particular, a test lane, a hospital, a "Schnupfenbox", a pharmacy or a medical practice. Antigen self-tests for self-administration are not authorized.

When exactly am I considered vaccinated in Austria?
1 - Immunisation by two partial vaccinations
As of August 15, 2021, vaccination is not considered proof of a low epidemiological risk until immunization is complete. The proof will be issued from the day of the 2nd vaccination.
2 - Immunisation by vaccination
From day 22 after vaccination with an EMA-approved single-dose SARS-CoV-2 vaccine (e.g. Johnson&Johnson), proof of vaccination is valid for 270 days.
3 - Immunisation by vaccination of convalescents
If a positive molecular biology test for SARS-CoV-2 was available at least 21 days prior to vaccination, or if evidence of neutralising antibodies is already available at the time of vaccination, proof of vaccination is valid for 270 days from the time of first vaccination with an EMA-approved vaccine against SARS-CoV-2.
As proof of vaccination, please preferably present your e-vaccination certificate or digital proof of vaccination on your mobile phone or as a printout.
In Germany, you can obtain your digital proof of vaccination here.
In Austria, you can obtain your digital proof of vaccination / green passport here.
Participants from outside Germany or Austria, please inform yourself in your country about an EU-wide valid digital proof of vaccination.
Alternatively, the yellow vaccination certificate or a vaccination card is accepted.
2. Data sheet for covid tracing
When signing in on site for DAGA 2021, you will be asked to enter your contact details on a data sheet (paper). This information will be kept for 28 days in accordance with data protection regulations and will then be completely destroyed. The collection of this data will be used solely for contact tracing by the competent health authority in the event of an infection.
What should I do if I have symptoms or a positive test result?
If you show symptoms or fear you may be ill, please stay at home or in your hotel room and dial 1450. Please also contact our Covid 19 Officer Konstantin Ulitsch at +43 1 51581-2520 / Konstantin.Ulitsch@oeaw.ac.at.
If you express any signs of infection on site during the conference, please contact the staff in the exit area. You will be directed to the first-aid room where you will receive medical attention from the first-aid staff and can contact the health hotline 1450. Please also contact our Covid 19 Officer Konstantin Ulitsch at +43 1 51581-2520 / Konstantin.Ulitsch@oeaw.ac.at.
3. mandatory use of masks
Please note: The obligation to wear a mask in accordance with the hygiene concept applies specifically to DAGA 2021 from the moment of entering the Congress Center, in order to guarantee participants a higher level of protection against infection at DAGA 2021, even beyond the current regulations. Speakers are excluded from this rule during the time of their presentation.
The reception in the town hall, on the other hand, is considered an outdoor event and masks are not required there.
4. strong spatial separation in the foyers and in the conference halls, outdoor area open, one-way system
To ensure distances, every second seat should remain empty wherever possible. The spatial capacities are generously dimensioned for this purpose.
The routing is planned in a one-way system. Please follow the floor markings.
The outdoor area can be used for mask-free breaks.
5. cleaning and disinfection
Disinfectant will be provided at the conference office and media reception, at each room entrance, each catering station and in the toilet facilities. Contact surfaces, door handles, railings and toilets will be cleaned every hour.
Messe Wien offers optimal conditions for the above measures thanks to spacious and technically modern equipped premises as well as the surrounding infrastructure.
